The Icelandic Dream (íslenski draumurinn)


The Icelandic Dream is one of Icelands biggest box-office successes this year (year 2000). It was released on the 7th of september and became an instant success while also receving some of the best reviews ever given to an Icelandic film by the press.

The Icelandic Dream is Robert Douglas' debut feature film and centers on Toti a young business man that is coping with a mid life crisis 15 years too early. Apart from having to run a successfull business that is bound to fail, he also has to cope with being a weekend dad, his ever resentfull ex-inlaws and wife, his new found girlfriend that is 10 years younger and most importantly the shock of seeing his favourite soccer team go down a division this season.
